The purpose of the CTE Instructor Nurse Assistant is to perform under general supervision, to supervise and instruct students in assigned areas of vocational training and career development; to establish and maintain an orderly, safe, and well-disciplined classroom learning environment; and to perform other job-related duties as assigned. **Please be advised that this position is located in Indio, approximately 75 miles from Riverside.** EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of work experience in the technical skills, trade, or vocations to be taught are required, and one (1) of the three (3) years of the required experience must be within the last five (5) years, or two (2) years within the last ten (10) years. A person who provides instruction or training, at a skilled nursing facility or intermediate care facility or in an educational institution, as part of a certified nurse assistant precertification training program described in Section 1337.1 or 1337.3 may be any licensed vocational nurse or registered nurse with no less than two years of nursing experience, of which no less than one year is in providing care and services to chronically ill or elderly patients in an acute care hospital, skilled nursing facility, intermediate care facility, home care, hospice care, or other long-term care setting. AND one (1) year of experience planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in nursing; OR one year of full-time experience as a licensed nurse. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree desired. CREDENTIALS/CERTIFICATES/LICENSES: Possession of, or ability to obtain prior to employment, a valid California Designated Subjects Vocational Teaching Credential for the subject to be taught is required. (Refer to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing pamphlet for: Designated Subjects Vocational Teaching Credentials). EL certification or EL equivalent annual renewal of EL waiver will be required until EL Authorization is obtained. You must provide copies of credentials as required for the position or provide evidence of qualifying for required credential with your application materials. **Registered Nurse (RN) License, Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required.**

Prior to employment, the applicant must submit form HS-279 and be approved by the Department of Health Services as an Instructor of Nursing Assistant for the RCOE-CTE.
