VACAVILLE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT SUBJECT: Warehouser CLASSIFICATION: Classified Personnel SALARY RANGE: $2,090.00-$2,668.00 DESCRIPTION OF BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY To participate in the receiving, storing, loading, unloading, delivery, and maintenance of inventory of District materials, supplies, and equipment as it relates to warehouse operations. Employees in this classification receive direct supervision from the Director of Purchasing, Head Warehouser, or their designee within a framework of standard policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Receives, unloads, stores, picks up, and delivers materials, supplies, and equipment for the District. Inspects incoming stock for conformity to purchase orders and packing slips; reporting shortages, damages, and other discrepancies. Loads and unloads delivery truck. Delivers mail, books, educational, and audio-visual materials and equipment. Assembles items received when necessary. Maintains warehouse in clean and orderly fashion. Maintains delivery trucks in clean and safe manner. ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS Assists in maintaining running inventory of warehouse stock. Records, marks, bins, and/or stores items received in warehouse. Assists in periodic inventories of stock on hand at warehouse. Assists in the maintenance of a variety of records. Performs related duties as required. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS Requires possession of: Valid and appropriate California State driver's license. Safe driving record. Requires knowledge of: Computer technology and programs. Requires ability to: Obtain lift-truck certification card (license) within the probationary period and keep it valid during the term of employment. Read and write at a level sufficient to perform required duties. Understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Maintain accurate records. Perform arithmetical calculations accurately. Meet physical requirements for performance of assigned duties. Operate a variety of machines and equipment including hand truck, platform dollies, furniture dollies, duplicating machine, trucks, forklifts, vans, and pallet jack. Establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical requirements indicated below are examples of the physical aspects that this position must perform in carrying out essential job functions. Ability to exert up to 70 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This type of work requires occasional or frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, and kneeling for extended periods of time. Sufficient manual dexterity and/or mobility to grasp and/or manipulate objects, operate mechanical equipment, drive a motor vehicle, and move about the work area.
