Required: 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. An AA degree (or equivalent) or passage of proficiency examination in compliance with Education Code and No Child Left Behind Act. 3. One year experience working with students who have special needs or are at-risk in a classroom or similar learning environment. (see job description for additional requirements)
Per state law, all applicants must have 48 semester units, OR an AA degree OR pass the CBEST test OR show proof of NCLB compliance OR take an Instructional Assistant Proficiency exam. The exam is administered every Thursday at 9:00 am (or by appointment), at the SLOCOE Main Office (across from Cuesta College on Highway One).

This posting serves to fill a current vacancy and to create an eligibility list to fill any openings that may occur in the next 6 months. The current opening is located at Chris Jespersen School, an Intensive Therapeutic Learning Program.
