Individuals who hold a valid California credential which required the completion of a bachelor's degree and CBEST are authorized to serve as day to day substitutes. You would qualify to apply for a document authorizing substitute teaching If you hold a bachelor's degree and have taken and passed CBEST. Have a Certificate of Clearance from the California Teaching Commission.
