School culture is so vitally important, and we strive to create an atmosphere where everyone feels like they belong and the culture is strong. What we’ve found is that the schools are most successful at creating this culture when they have a standard of behavior that’s cohesive and clear. The Student Culture Coordinator serves as an integral part of the d.tech culture team, supporting building both a positive student climate and culture. The SCC works with a high level of independence and professional discretion understanding the mission of the school and how to best carry it through with a positive influence over programming, communication and support. The SCC should be trained in restorative practices and should have a focus as an educator on equity, inclusion and anti-racism.
