JOB SUMMARY:Provide a high level of support to system users, by assisting with understanding and use of technology resource equipment and software.Program and manage district internet websites.Network design and management (wired & wireless).Perform routine preventative maintenance on hardware.Setup and manage email, firewall, web filtering system and FTP server.Manage and support Eagles: Aries/ Data Director.Perform CSIS state reporting.Terminate CAT 5 and fiber optic cables.Perform routine preventive maintenance on hardware and ASP.NET 2.0 programming.Troubleshooting technology problems.Perform other related duties as assigned.The Director of Technology reports to the District Assistant Superintendent.QUALIFICATIONS:1. Experience and training in the technical aspects of networking.2. Experience and training in the installation, configuration and use of operating systems: Windows 2003-2007 Server, MAC OS, MAC OS 9, Suse Linux Server, Sun OS 10.3. Experience in maintenance and repair on both PC and Apple workstations.4. Experience and training in the installation and use of typical application software: Microsoft Office 97/ 2000/ XP/2007, Adobe Reader, Microsoft SQL 2000 server, Microsoft SQL 2005 server, Cisco ACS, Citrix MentaFrame. 5. Experience and understanding of Fiber Optics cabling, Cisco routers, Cisco switches, hubs, CAT 5 wiring standards, and server connectivity issues.6. ASP.NET 2.0 programming (Visual Basic, Visual C#), and HTML.7. Ability to work with students/ faculty/ staff at all technology levels to effectively translate needs into workable technology solutions.8. Valid California driver's license.9. Criminal background check required. Employee responsible for DOJ fee.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:- Four year degree in Computer Science from an accredited college.- Cisco Certified Network Associate.- Certified in Information Systems Security.- Certified in Fiber Optics Installation.- Training in Cisco Router Configuration.- Eagles: Aries Advanced Training.- Knowledge of connections, cables and conduit support.- Certified in network and router configuration.- Training in SACS system installation and troubleshooting.- Additional specialized training in education, computer operations and systems or a related fields preferred.
