QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of training and experience that will provide the required knowledge and abilities is considered to be qualifying. A typical method of demonstrating these qualifications:- Master's degree with major course work in education, public administration, business administration (MBA) from an accredited college or university of higher education.
- Seven or more years of comprehensive, progressive, directly related experience. Prior experience as a business or fiscal director in a large California school district or other county office of education is preferred.
- A valid California driver's license.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES: Candidates must file a letter of position interest, complete the on-line application, attach a resume, and answer the supplemental questions (embedded on the on-line application).EXAMINATION AND SELECTION PROCEDURES: Examination and selection procedures shall be in accordance with senior management selection processes of the Personnel Commission, office policies and all applicable laws. The most qualified candidates shall be identified at the end of each of the following examination components:- August 2: Rating of application materials
- Week of August 9: Oral panel and Community panel interviews
Classified Personnel Services will establish an unranked list of qualified candidates. Selected candidates from the list will be invited to a second interview with the County Superintendent of Schools. NOTE: Examination procedures are subject to change as deemed necessary by the Director of Classified Personnel Services.
