  Description: San Diego Unified School District Teacher Intern Programs presents an overview of district and university special education internships. Coursework is completed at partner universities including: Azusa Pacific Univ.; CA State San Marcos; Brandman (Chapman) Univ.; National Univ.; Pt. Loma Nazarene Univ.; San Diego St. Univ.; and Univ. of San Diego; OR through the San Diego Unified School District’s “DSEICP” credentialing program. The Intern Program provides an alternate means to earn a California Education Specialist Teaching Credential. The internship is an “earn while you learn” program whereby interns teach during the day and complete coursework in the evenings and on occasional Saturdays. Individuals accepted into the program receive “full-time teacher” salary and benefits.

Special Education Credential Programs – These programs are specifically geared for individuals desiring placement as a teacher of students with mild/moderate or moderate/severe disabilities in grades K-12. A previous Multiple Subjects or Single Subject credential is NOT required, however, interested individuals holding these credentials are encouraged to attend this overview.

Prerequisites:
1) Bachelor’s Degree;
2) CBEST passing score;
3) CSET passing scores:
Multiple Subject Test Numbers 101, 102 and 103; OR
Single Subject Test Numbers (Math 110, 111 & 112); OR (Biology 118, 119 & 120); OR (Chemistry 118, 119 & 121); OR (Physics 118, 119 & 123); OR (Earth & Planetary 118,119 & 126); OR (English 105, 106, 107 & 108).
