PHYSICAL THERAPIST (Pediatrics, School-Clinic) General Description: Pediatric Physical Therapists (PTs) that specialize in providing individualized physical therapy services for children from 3 months to 22 years of age. Pediatric physical therapists will work with patients, clients, and students with various neurological, orthopedic, and genetic diagnoses. As a pediatric PT you will work closely and communicate frequently with parents, family members, occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists, school nurses, teachers, etc. The settings where a pediatric PT has the option to work include: clinics, homes, and schools. Working as a pediatric PT will offer many rewarding experiences to help children improve their balance, coordination, strength, flexibility, and developmental abilities. Pediatric PTs also assist families with adaptive equipment recommendations and can provide support for families in regards to medical appointments and understanding school-based vs medical-based physical therapy services. Pediatric PTs serve a vital role in helping children with medical diagnoses achieve gross motor milestones and provide support and guidance for their families.
