DCP was the first charter school in Silicon Valley and currently operates two high schools and two middle schools in San Jose, CA. DCP currently serves 1750 students in grades 5-12 and provides college coaching, mentoring, and college scholarships to over 400 alumni. Position Summary

The substitute teacher is responsible for the full schedule of the classroom teacher.  This includes, but is not limited to implementing the lesson plan created for the sub, yard duty supervision and other daily duties performed by the classroom teacher.  The substitute teacher is to:

 

  • Implement the daily instructional lesson plans of the classroom teacher in an effective manner
  •  Maintain a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth
  •  Establish effective rapport with pupils while maintaining proper classroom management.
  •  Work effectively with the building administrator and other teachers to minimize any potential transition problems from the teacher to substitute and substitute too teacher.

 

Qualifications:

  • Valid California Teaching Credential (Single Subject, Multiple Subject, or Emergency 30-Day Substitute) OR  have a Bachelors Degree AND are willing to take the CBEST (http://www.ctcexams.nesinc.com/about_CBEST.asp) OR have a Bachelor’s Degree AND you passed the SAT Math with a score of 550 or more and English with a score of 500 or more.
