Under general supervision, the Camp Maintenance Worker II performs a variety of general site and building maintenance and occasional construction tasks ranging in complexity from unskilled to skilled, and related to a diversity of trades and activities including; carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, custodial, site security, gardening, and "hosting" the site for guests; maintains site and facilities in safe condition.

The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting to fill a vacancy for a Camp Maintenance Worker II for the Cuyamaca Outdoor School for the Outdoor Education Program. Located in the beautiful, expansive, and unspoiled 25,000-acre Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, SDCOE's Cuyamaca Outdoor School is San Diego County's Original 6th Grade Camp, and serves more than 11,000 students each year. The Camp Maintenance Worker II position will work with the maintenance staff to perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled site maintenance and repair tasks typical of those required to run the Outdoor School, such as unclogging toilets, resetting wall clocks, replacing light bulbs, and all items noted for the Camp Maintenance Worker I and custodian positions. Under general supervision, the Camp Maintenance Worker II performs a variety of general site and building maintenance and occasional construction tasks ranging in complexity from unskilled to skilled, and related to a diversity of trades and activities including; carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, custodial, site security, gardening, and "hosting" the site for guests; maintains site and facilities in safe condition. The Cuyamaca Outdoor School is located in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, approximately 60 miles east of the city of San Diego. This position requires experience involving maintenance or service repair of structures, utilities, plumbing, water, and electrical systems. Experience must include the performance of construction tasks. Note: grounds maintenance, janitorial or custodial experience will not be qualifying. In addition, a valid Class C California driver's license is required at the time of the appointment. The ability to qualify for a Class B license after appointment is also required. Certification in Non-Transient Community Small Water System is required within six months of employment.
